Reflexology is a holistic therapy designed to promote balance throughout the body. Following your treatment, it is common for the body’s natural healing processes to be stimulated, which may result in temporary symptoms. Please observe any changes you experience after your session and prior to your next appointment, as this information will assist in tailoring your ongoing personalised treatment plan.
After reflexology it’s essential to stay well-hydrated to support the natural healing process and prevent dehydration. Adequate hydration aids in flushing any cellular/metabolic waste, reducing the likelihood of feeling fatigued or experiencing mild detox symptoms. Aim to drink several glasses of water throughout the day after your session.
Allow your body time to absorb the benefits of the treatment. Avoid strenuous activities for the next 24 hours. Rest if you feel tired, as your body may need extra energy for healing.
It’s normal to experience some changes in your body as it adjusts post-treatment. You may feel a sense of calm, relaxation or increased energy. Occasionally, clients may experience a “healing reaction” following reflexology which can include feelings of tiredness, slight dizziness, or changes in mood. Physical symptoms may include temporary aches, a mild headache, changes in bowel movement or increased frequency of urination. These are all common and should subside within a day or two.
Try to avoid caffeine, alcohol, and smoking for at least 24 hours post-treatment. These stimulants can interfere with your body’s natural healing process.
If you feel any discomfort or soreness, applying a warm compress or soaking your feet in warm water can help soothe the muscles and promote relaxation.
